In the heart of the open mic scene since the summer of '99 has been guitarist, singer, and songwriter Bryan Harrison. Out of his initial intent to utilize the forum to hone his songwriting craft, Bryan has played in a variety of band configurations with top artists and musicians, taking him to such places as performing at the High Sierra Music Festival. His current configuration, "The Bryan Harrison Band", varies in sound and style to fit the occasion. With the exception of his bass player, who is his son Chris, the band members consist of friends from this open mic scene.".Photo by Hali McGrath |

Katie Bursk, originally from Portland, Maine, moved to the bay area in September of 2002. She has been writing and playing music since she started in 1995 at the age of 16. Since arriving in California she recorded her third album The Cost of Apples currently featured on the international web based music library Rhapsody. She is the first unsigned artist to be featured on Rhapsody and has reached number 13 in the urban folk category. Her music is a brand she likes to call “dark folk.” Katie is known for her haunting vocals, at times angelic and deceptive of her lyrics. She creates sardonic, sensual and at times dissonant originals about the journeys of self-doubt and regret and the complexities of human relationships. |
